Event Information

AIDS Walk Washington is a fundraising walk and 5K timed run benefiting and produced by Whitman-Walker Health, a non-profit community-based health organization which provides dependable, high-quality, comprehensive and accessible health care to those infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
 
  1. If you are a registered participant, it's never too early or too late to secure donations in support of AIDS Walk! Donors can contribute online through December 31, 2013.
  2. Supporter checks should be made payable to 'AIDS Walk Washington'.
  3. Checks should be accompanied by a donation form with the participant name on it. To guarantee proper attribution, the walker name should be noted on the check's memo line.
  4. Checks should be sent to AIDS Walk Washington, 1701 14th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20056-3768. Please do not send cash by mail.

    All donations are tax-deductible.

Event Location

AIDS Walk Washington will begin and end at Freedom Plaza (Pennsylvania Avenue and 13th Street, NW). The closest Metro stations are Federal Triangle (Blue / Orange lines) and Metro Center (Blue/Orange/Red lines).

Parking: There is limited street parking in the area. There is convenient public parking located directly across the street from Freedom Plaza in the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. The Ronald Reagan Building is a 2,000 space secured sublevel parking garage open to the public between the hours of 5:00am and 2:00am, with 3 entrances/exits to the garage that should not be impacted by street closures. The cost for parking on a weekend is a flat rate of $13.00 per vehicle.
 
The National Place garage, located at 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, on 13th Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and F Street, is open 24 hours.  There is a flat fee of $15 to park in this garage on the weekends.
 
The Colonial Parking garage at 1455 Pennsylvania Avenue (between 14th and 15th Streets) opens at 7 am and parking fees range from $21 - $31.
 

Event Schedule

AIDS Walk Washington 2013 will take place the morning of Saturday, October 26.
 
Same-day registration and other activities begin 7:00 am
An uplifting program of music, speakers and warm-up 
exercises begins.
8:15 am
7th annual 5K timed run begins promptly. 9:15 am
27th annual AIDS Walk steps off. 9:20 am

Fees

General Walk Registration: $25.00
General Walk Registration (Please ensure that the Walk is your preferred registration choice. You will NOT be able to change your registration to the timed run at a later date).

Student / Senior (60+) Walk Registration: $15.00
General Walk Registration (Please note that the Student / Senior Rate applies to the Walk only. This rate does not apply to the timed run. Do not select this option if you plan to participate in the timed run).

General Timed Run Registration: $35.00 

Sleep Walker Registration: $40.00
Want to sleep in on October 26 or just can't be with us? Register here and you can support the effort from the comfort of your bed! Your commemorative AIDS Walk t-shirt will be mailed to you after the event.
