Hello everyone. This is the 30th anniversary of this Walk, originally named the AIDS walk, when the HIV/AIDS epidemic was beginning to devastate communities and famlies across the US. The truth is, since then the virus and its horrific effects became worse before it became better. But there is an end in sight.
This is personal. HIV has affected me, and many of those I love. I am also fortunate enough to sit on the board of Whitman Walker Health - a tremendous resource serving not only those affected by HIV/AIDS but all the underserved communities of Washington DC.
So this year, when I walk, I will be conscious of the tremendous community that walks together. And I will be grateful for your donations. I ask that you consider making a donation, however small or big. Everything counts. Thank you.
