Booz Allen Hamilton

As the Community Outreach Co-Chair for the GLOBE Forum, I am inviting you to be a part of this year's Walk to End HIV, and to be a part of real change within our community.

  • The CDC estimates more than 1.2 million people in the United States are living with HIV infection, and almost 1 in 8 (12.8%) are unaware of their infection
  • Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM), particularly young black/African American MSM, are most seriously affected by HIV
  • By race, blacks/African Americans still face the most severe burden of HIV
  • The fast growing rates of infection are among African-American women and young gay or bisexual Black men.

Our goal this year is to raise $20,000!  GLOBE has already kickstarted the fundraising with a generous match from Booz Executive Vice President Reggie Van Lee, raising over $10,000!!!

SO... That means more than just registering (for free using our promo code BAH16) and walking to get to $20,000, but asking your friends and family to contribute to a great organization that has made and continues to make a significant impact in our local community.  If there is any doubt, send me an email and I would gladly set up a tour of Whitman-Walker Health's new facility so you can see first hand for yourself at how they put our donations to use.  Last year we had over 50 registered walkers.  If each of them had raised $1,000, we could have donated over $50,000.  But all we are striving for this year is another $10,000 to add to what was raised at our kickoff!

This year's walk is on Saturday, November 12.  Surely we can do this if we start NOW!  Let's show them just how much Booz Allen Cares.

With Heartfelt Hope,

Danny McGibney, Booz Allen Walk To End HIV 2016 Team Captain
